about

If the first part was a glimpse into an uncertain future, this second part is the hazy, retrospective view from further ahead in time. You can hear the final phrase from the melody in part 1, but now it’s slowed down and dropped in pitch. Ric Elsworth’s drums are filtered as if to portray the blurred perspective of looking back in time, Alex Hitchcock’s saxophone dances around the melancholic progression and finally the track slows to a halt and ends peacefully. We live in changing times but there’s reason to be optimistic.
