about

This is definitely the most obvious nod to Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters on the album - the song takes no prisoners right from the opening drum break. Inspired by the groundbreaking rhythm section of Mike Clark and Paul Jackson, Tiago Coimbra lays down a filthy Fender bass line under Ric Elsworth’s drums; the song’s theme carries the listener on a journey starting with the statement of the melody, swirling synths propelling the track into a raw Rhodes solo before an atmospheric breakdown gives way to a barnstorming outro inspired by the 70’s Oakland funk scene. What’s behind the track title? Try counting along to this track and see if you can work out what time signature it’s in ;)
